Students in Ms. Scott's fourth grade class selected and researched a famous African American in honor of Black History Month. Each student presented facts and accomplishments about the persons life; focusing on how this person helped make our world a better place to live. The class discussed both the impact and positive qualities that represented to others. Following each presentation, the class individually wrote down facts they learned about the person, focusing on proper grammar and relevant information. The class rehearsed their presentations by practicing reading notes, enabling them to be familiar with the words they learned and cited sources so they can learn how to avoid plagiarism.
