Kindness Makes A Difference

Students from Ms. Vioski's 2nd Grade classroom enjoyed the story, Each Kindness which is a book that demonstrates to children the importance of being kind to someone when they have the opportunity to and the importance of doing something nice for a loved-one every day. Finally, when learning about a lesson about how cruelty and kindness can cause ripples into the world, the main character Chloe learns her own lesson about friendship and regret. This book touches beautifully on inclusion, poverty, bullying and the power of kindness.

After reading the book, students had a circle meeting and shared how they were kind to someone, as they dropped a stone into a bowl of water representing the positive ripples they can spread into the world. Then students shared how they felt when they were kind to someone.
