Students, staff engage in meaningful fun, learning with Fine Arts Summer Camps
Jacqueline Pisano

For two weeks this month, dozens of incoming first- through sixth-grade students had the opportunity to meet new friends, learn from new teachers and try their hands at new skills during Cicero District 99's annual Fine Arts Summer Camps, held at Columbus East Elementary School.

With offerings including ukulele instruction, art tutorials, and STEAM and robotics projects, students from schools all across Cicero had the chance to beat the heat and seize the free time of the season to test their artistic, scientific and musical abilities and walk away with blossoming friendships, abilities and mentorship!

Each year, District 99's Fine Arts Summer Camps help students stay ahead of the summer slide and explore their own interests — all things which help children increase their capacities for teamwork, problem solving and self-awareness!
