Dear Parents/Guardians:

We would like to officially welcome Mr. Tom Sweeney as our new Paul V. Moore High School Executive Principal/Director of Counseling and Pathways to Success. Mr. Sweeney is replacing Dr. Heidi Sweeney, beginning July 1. We would like to thank Dr. Heidi Sweeney for her wonderful contributions to our high school
over the past three years, and we wish her all the best as she plans on spending quality time with her family as
she has had an amazing career in education. Although the two have a similar last name, they are not related, that is simply a remarkable coincidence.

Tom Sweeney comes to us with valuable administrative experience from the East Syracuse-Minoa School District, where he has been the elementary principal at East
Syracuse Elementary for the past few years, and prior to that, he served as the Associate Principal of Pine Grove Middle School in the ESM School District. Before that he was an Assistant Principal at ESM High School. Prior to becoming an administrator, Tom had
significant teaching experience in the Syracuse City School District and in the ESM School District at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. Tom was the unanimous choice of the two interview committees, which consisted of building-level administrators, district-level administrators, teachers, counselors, teaching assistants, and clerical, along with parents of high school students. We feel that Tom Sweeney will be an excellent fit at our high school and will play a key role in our mission to prepare all
students to excel as citizens in a changing world.

In the coming weeks, we will announce dates and times where students, parents, and staff can come in and meet their new Executive High School Principal, Tom Sweeney. We understand that many families and staff are on vacation so we will schedule several of these opportunities over the summer. We are looking to make this transition very smooth for everyone.

We would also like to officially welcome Mr. Chuck Paquette as our new Assistant Transportation Supervisor. Mr. Paquette is replacing Mr. Harry Farrell as he has been appointed as the new Transportation Supervisor for the APW School District. Harry did a wonderful job for our District and we wish him all the best at APW. Chuck comes to us with a tremendous amount of experience working in school transportation, and also has great experience
with the routing software that we use to assist in building our numerous bus runs that span over 200 square miles. Chuck will be a great asset to our District as we remain fully committed to safely transporting our students to and from school daily. We are excited to have Chuck join our team.
