The Canton Local School District announces the retirement of Victoria Hessey, Director of Special Services, after nearly six years of dedicated service. Her departure coincides with a district-wide leadership realignment for the 2025-2026 school year to enhance student support and academic programs.
Jaimie Brown will step into the newly created role of Chief Academic Officer, overseeing an integrated student services department with support from Melissa Kalb, Allison Pfaus, and Ann Bartley. Bartley, currently principal of Faircrest Memorial Elementary, will transition to the central office as Title and Reading Services Coordinator, prompting a formal search for her successor. Nick Stepanovich will take on the role of Chief Operations Officer, overseeing multiple departments.

Faircrest Memorial Elementary School invites you to our Preschool Registration Fair on Wednesday, April 9, from 5:30-7:30 PM. This event is a fantastic opportunity for families to:
✅ Learn more about the district’s preschool programs
✅ Enroll their children for the upcoming school year
✅ Connect with community partners, agencies, and organizations offering valuable resources to support school readiness
Commencement is Friday, May 23, 2025, at Canton South High School.
Weather permitting, graduation will be held outside in Canton South’s Brechbuhler Stadium. In this scenario, graduation will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, May 23. Each senior will receive five (5) tickets for the graduation ceremony. There is no early admittance to the stadium to secure seating.
● In the case of inclement weather, graduation will be held in Canton South’s Red Ash Gymnasium at 7:00 PM on Friday, May 23. In this scenario, each senior will receive five (5) tickets for the graduation ceremony, and only “Indoor” tickets will be accepted for admittance to the ceremony.
