Summer Champions Course offered for 7th - 12th graders
Posted on 04/22/2025
Dear Parents and Students,
We are excited to announce the return of one of Calhoun County's most valuable athletic traditions - the Champions Course! For over 20 years, this summer off-season program has helped shape thousands of student-athletes into stronger, more confident competitors both on and off the field.
Last summer, more than 300 of our male and female athletes took part in the Champions Course, developing essential athletic skills, building strength, and learning the importance of proper technique and safety in weightlifting - all under the guidance of our dedicated coaching staff.
At Calhoun High School, we firmly believe that much of our athletic success begins in the summer. This program has consistently made a positive impact on students of all sports and skill levels - and we're proud to continue that tradition
this year.
In addition to the Champions Course, the UIL now allows athletes up to 90 minutes per day of sport-specific skill work with no more than 60 minutes devoted to any single sport. To support this opportunity, most of our coaches plan to hold
skills sessions from 9:30-10:30 AM, giving both high school and junior high athletes the chance to participate between Champions Course sessions.
We look forward to seeing your student-athlete grow and succeed this summer! Go Sandcrabs!
