The Calhoun JV Gold team played their 2nd district game versus the Beeville Trojans in Beeville on Thursday night. The night started out great as Drayvn Garza pooch kicked the ball and it was recovered by the Crabs; but the Gold Squad was feeling generous as they gave it right back to the Trojans 2 plays later with a fumble. The defense played with outstanding effort all night long and were able to shut down and shut out Beeville. The defense had 3 sacks on the night; one each by Brandon Guevara, Jacob Orsonia, and Trey Davis; and Phoenix Pledger had 2 fumble recoveries. The offense was led by Billy Woody who had 20 carries for 100 yards and 1 touchdown; Elijah Loney had 7 carries for 72 yards and 1 TD; Raymond Cervantez had 1 catch for 26 yards. The final score was 14-0 Crabs.
Calhoun Esports concluded our 3rd week of regular season play for our Fall Split this week. Currently, Calhoun Esports Rocket League sits at 3-0 on the season and is ranked #3. Roster includes Captain Laith Moore, Jaxon Burris, Dominic Garcia, And Avon Garza. Super Smash Players Keegan Goode (3-0 #6) and Owen Mitchell (1-1) are coming off of wins this week! The yearbook sale ends today. After this date, the cost of yearbooks will go up. Yearbooks can be ordered at Jostens or pick up an order form from Mrs. Sontag in A109. All orders and money are due today.
