Students - This is a reminder that we will be on a modified bell schedule tomorrow to accommodate for our Rethink Ed Lesson.
The UIL Academics team traveled to Regional competition at TAMUCC this weekend. In LD Debate, Beth Boone placed 5th. In Mathematics, Stacy Zhang placed 1st. In Calculator, Stacy placed 6th. In Number Sense, Stacy Zhang placed 1st. In Spelling and Vocabulary, Lucas Lee placed 6th. Congratulations to these winners! Thank you to all the UIL Academic competitors for all for your hard work and dedication to our program. Good luck to Stacy Zhang and Allie Chiu as they head to the STATE competition on May 19th and 20th.
The Calhoun Sports Medicine competed at the Crossroads Athletic Training workshop in Victoria West High School. Trinity Rubio took first in ankle taping. The Staff got second in Jeopardy competition, and the team of Claire Winemiller, Emily Jaramillo, Angel Hernandez, Trinity Rubio, Briseis Cardova, Kiley Sexton and Emma Tomlin got third in the Olympic Competition. Angel Hernandez won 1st place in the poster competition.
Good morning CHS! It is getting closer to Prom 2025 and that means one thing- it's time to nominate the juniors and seniors you want to vote into the Prom Court. Nominations can be submitted this week by going to the "Prom Noms" assignment posted in your class of 2025 & 2026 Google Classroom page. All nominations for Prom Court must be submitted no later than 4pm this Friday. Don't forget, if your date is not a CHS student, you must fill out the form located in the front office for administrative approval by this Friday."
Seniors, if you need a tie for graduation or other senior events, swing by A-117, Mrs. Wooldridge's classroom.
Yearbooks have arrived! If you reserved a copy of the yearbook, they will be available for pickup in Mrs. Sontag's room A109. If you need to purchase a yearbook, they will be sold during all three lunches this week. The cost is $78 cash or check. Please make checks payable to Calhoun High School.
Seniors, Go to your Class of 2025 Google Classroom and NOMINATE one boy and one girl for each of the Who's Who categories by tomorrow. Once the nomination period has ended, you will have the opportunity to vote for the Who's Who of your Senior Class. These will be announced on SENIOR Day, May 16th.
Seniors - it's time to start thinking about Project Grad! Please fill out the google form posted in google classroom. Be sure to read all the info posted - it's important!! If you RSVP to Project Grad you will automatically be awarded 50 points to put towards prizes, receive a goodie bag & Project Grad shirt. If you don't RSVP, you are still able to come but you won't be guaranteed a shirt or goodie bag. RSVP deadline is Friday, May 2. Soooo, come spend one last night with your classmates! You aren't going to want to miss all the prizes, food & fun!! If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Gossett.
Attention all Athletes, Band members, ROTC, Sandettes, Cheer. Physicals will be today for GIRLS. This is a one time event. Get your physical packet from your coach or come by the athletic training room. Cost is $20 CASH!!!! Starts at 5:30pm.
Student Council is hosting their LAST blood drive of the year tomorrow. If you are 16 or older, and would like to donate, please sign up using the QR code on the flyer or using the attached link in Google Classroom. Anyone 16 that wishes to donate must have a signed permission slip that can be printed from Google Classroom or picked up from Mrs. Anderson in E206. Remember you must donate 6 times to receive your red cord for graduation.
