We have 23 students who still have not turned in their registration paperwork. Chromebook access will not be turned on until all forms are turned in. We will start giving lunch detentions also for anyone who has not turned their paperwork in by tomorrow.

Congratulations to the following Calhoun tennis players for receiving 29 4-A all-district recognition. Ella Vazquez (MVP), Julieta Rodriguez (1st team singles), Ella Vazquez and Julieta Rodriguez (1st team singles), Emily Salinas (2nd team singles), Jai'Lynn Boots, Alanea Martinez, and Brilee Crittenden (Honorable Mention) Benjamin Curlee and Hai Say (1st team singles), Jose Rosas and Kaden Gregory (1st team doubles), Jose Rosas (2nd team singles), Benjamin Curlee and Rocky Ybarra (2nd team doubles), and Mason Rrodriguez, Jason Anderson, and Gabriel Cisotto (Honorable Mention).
The Calhoun JV Gold team traveled to Agua Dulce Thursday night to take on the 4-0 Agua Dulce Varsity Football team .The JV gold team got off to a great start offensively as they took the opening drive down the field for a touchdown with Billy Woody scoring on a QB sneak from 1 yard out. It was a struggle all night for the Crabs on defense. Raymond Cervantez blocked an extra point. Elijah Loney rushed 20 for 90 yards and 1 fumble, Billy Woody had 16 rushes for 74 yards, 1 touchdown, and 4 fumbles; Dravyn Garza had 2 carries for 36 yards and 1 touchdown. It was a great experience for this JV football team and will help them be successful further down the road. This takes the JV Golds record to 3-2 on the season.
The Freshmen Black Football Team defeated the Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial Eagles 22-20 for their fourth win of the season. Offensive standouts included QB Avery Svetlik with 2 rushing TD’s, two 2point conversions and a 55 yard TD pass to Slotback Max Ondreas. Fullback Waylon Thomas also added quality rushing yards as well. Defensive standouts included Defensive Linemen Andres Vargas and Jordan Romero with multiple tackles and Outside Linebacker Joseph Cervantes and Linebacker Waylon Thomas with a big sack on the final 2point play to end the game for a Sandcrab win.The Black Team is now 4-1 on the season and will start district play after the bye next week with the La Vernia Bears coming to Sandcrab Stadium on Thursday October 10th at 5PM. Come out and support our boys! GO SANDCRABS!!!
9th to 11th Grade Picture Day will be Monday, September 30th. Students will be able to order pictures once they receive their proof copy. Pictures will be taken during your history classes. If you do not have a history class, report to the auditorium on Monday to have your class picture taken. If you have any questions feel free to contact Mrs. Sontag at [email protected].
Seniors...it's time to vote for your Prom 2025 theme. Please check your Class of 2025 Google Classroom page to vote for your preferred theme for Calhoun's 2025 Prom in May.
With Homecoming this week, Interact will be selling gold sunglasses and black and gold beads to help increase school spirit. All proceeds will go towards the Golden Crescent Casa, an association helping kids in foster care to find their voice. Sunglasses will be $2 and beads will be 2 or $1.
