Seniors, there will be a Class Meeting tonight at 6pm in the Cafeteria.
It was a tough Team Tennis match up between three very good programs... Calhoun, Wharton, and Veterans Memorial. Calhoun came away victorious in girls doubles with a win by senior Ella Vazquez and junior Julieta Rodriguez, as well as a boys singles win by senior Owen Mitchell. The rest of the team played hard and learned a lot against their opponents Saturday morning and afternoon. Great work guys!"
Congratulations to Sandies Varsity Volleyball who won the Bay City Tournament this past weekend. Huge Congratulations to Kendal Bargas who was named Tournament MVP and Nevaeh Rangel and Kyndall Gray who received All- Tournament.
Calhoun's cross country team went to the Industrial Invitational meet at Brackenridge Park this weekend, Varsity boys' Colten Evans and Chris Herrera placed 5th and 10th. Earning the boys team a 2nd place finish. Varsity girls' Dalilah Dowell and Emery Williams placed 2nd and 5th. JV boys' Matthew Yang Placed 5th which helped the team claim 3rd place. JV girls won their division with Angel Hernandez, Alexis Gonzales and Camille Smith placing 2nd, 4th and 6th. Congrats to the Sandcrabs!
The welding club builds projects to sell, goes on competitions, and is an extension of the welding classes. If you want to join the Welding Club, go to V12 or talk to Mr. Hamelwright. There is a quick meeting this Friday right after school.
The ACT will be administered on October 1st. Bring $40 to the front office before August 30th to register.
PSAT/NMSQT will be administered on October 9th. Bring $18 to the front office before August 30th to register.
Students, if you have not turned in your completed registration paperwork to your 2nd period teacher, please get that done as soon as possible. This information is very important.
Student Council is hosting their first blood drive of the year on Wednesday, August 28th. If you are 16 or older and would like to donate, please sign up using the QR code in Google Classroom. If you are 16, you must have a signed permission slip. You may pick one up from Mrs. Anderson (E206).
