The Calhoun Sandies track team participated in the Jack Adcock Relay at Cuero High School this past Thursday. Over 15 teams attended this meet. It was good for the girls to compete at this meet, as their times improved. Scoring for the Sandies was: Mollie Strakos—5th in the 200 M dash, Emery Williams–3rd in the 400 M dash, Fehrle Rodriguez—6th in the 800 M run, Delilah Dowell–6th in the 3200 M run, Brooke Kirchner—1st place in the 100 H 4, placed 8th in the high jump, Claire Flores—5th in the 300 H. The 4 x 100 Relay placed 7th–Taylor Vallair, Ka´Liah Barnes, Taliyah Hosey, Mollie Strakos. The 4 x 200 Relay placed 6th —Taylor Vallair, Brooke Kirchner, Tayliah Hosey, Mollie Strakos. The 4 x 400 relay placed 5th– Fehrle Rodriguez, Jianna Campos, Farrah Garcia, Emery Williams.
The JV tennis team competed in the Rockport Tennis Meet on Thursday March 6th. A couple notable results were Gabriel Cisotto - Consolation Champion in Boys Singles, Mason Rodriguez/Ashly Fernandez - Consolation Champions in Mixed Doubles.
Seniors, just a reminder that the F.W. Gross Alumni scholarship application is due to Mrs. McCarthy-Vesely today so she can get them mailed to the donors before March 14th deadline. Also, the Inteplast application is due to her tomorrow and the South Texas Farm & Ranch applications are due to her by 3-12-25.
Calhoun Boys Region 5 Regional Powerlifting Results. Daniel Htoo 114lbs 5th place total 795lbs, David Varela 148lbs 5th place total 1,285lbs, Jake Jenkins 242lbs 5th place total 1,565lbs, Gavin Chavez 308lbs 7th place total 1,405lbs, Artemio Herrera SHW 3rd place total 1,575lbs, Congratulations to David Varela and Jake Jenkins qualifying to compete at State Meet in Abilene, on March 21st.
Congratulations to the Sandies on advancing to their first playoff appearance vs Needville Lady Blue Jays. The Sandies closed their season with a 2 to 0 loss to Halletsville. Jaeleigh Campos finished the night with 11 steals, Dulce Morales finished with 4 steals and Jennifer Gallegos, Jisel Romero and Kamila Ruiz finished the night with 2 steals each.
