The sandies beat Palacios 3 to 1 on Friday night. Claire Flores led the Sandies with 2 goals and Daisy Guerrero scored a goal and had an assist. Jaeleigh Campos and Nayeli Vargas led the sandies with 8 steals a piece, Jianna Campos finished the night with 5 steals and an assist, Addison Rangel and Delilah Dowell had 4 steals each. The sandies return home and will host El Campo at 7:15
The Calhoun Sandcrabs obtained their second District victory of the season, they defeated Palacios HS 2 to 0 at their stadium. Daniel Solano scored 2 goals. CONGRATULATIONS SANDCRABS!
The Calhoun Sandies Girls Powerlifting team participated in the 4th Annual Marvin Allen Invitational Meet at Somerset HS on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025. Sandies took 1st place with 68 points, with 2nd place Del Rio scoring 26 points. Scoring for the team was: Merin Cortez--1st place with 630 lbs, Carington Osornia--1st place with 680 lbs, Marley DeSote--2nd place with 675 lbs, Marta Aguero--3rd place with 660 lbs, Haley Torres--1st place with 745 lbs, Talyiah Hosey--1st place with 865 lbs, Zoeigh Pena--3rd place with 730 lbs, Amy Rico--1st place with 855 lbs, Ava Manning--3rd place with 785 lbs, Zarah Cano--1st place with 975 lbs, Anyiah Garcia--2nd place with 860 lbs, Zailey Cano--1st place with 1200 lbs. After this meeting, we had one more lifter, Ava Manning, who qualified for regional; at this time, 16 lifters have qualified for regionals. We also had Zailey Cano receive the Somerset Powerlifting Overall Upperclass Lifter award. And our very own Coach Bagwell received the Somerset Powerlifting Marvin Allen Outstanding Coach Award.
At this time, all seniors need to report to the main gym for their senior panoramic picture.
