Tuesday - Wear Orange for Leukemia - It's also Unity day! Wearing orange will also represent kindness, acceptance and inclusion of everyone.
Wednesday - No school, but wear Green for Liver Cancer.
Thursday - Wear Purple for Pancreatic Cancer
and Friday is PINK OUT! Wear Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness!

Yesterday the Sandcrabs went to Ingleside for the district meet at Live Oak Park.  The Varsity boys came in 2nd place with Colten Evans and Christopher Hererra coming in 2nd and 5th.  Varsity Girls came in 3rd place with Delilah Dowell and Emery Williams coming in 6th and 9th.  JV boys won their division with Anthony Ybarra and Jayden Saenz coming in 1st and 2nd.  JV girls' Camille Smith  had a 7th place finish.  Both Varsity teams qualified for Regionals.

Reminder: The deadline for juniors and seniors to turn in permission slips for the College Fair on October 18th is next Tuesday, October 15th. Forms are still available in the CTE Office and there are only 15 seats left!

The Calhoun JV Gold team played their 1st district game versus the La Vernia Bears at home on Thursday night. The game ended in a disappointing tie 14-14. The JV gold offense took the 1st half off with 3 fumbles and a punt to start the game. The defense was led by Raymond Cervantes, Brody O’Donnell, Brandon Guevara; Raymond had 2 tackles for loss and a blocked punt recovered by Kody Judd; Brody O’Donnell had a sack and a tackle for loss; and Brandon Guevara had an interception; the defense played great overall. Two 2nd half touchdown runs were scored by Billy Woody and the 2 pt conversion by Erick Melendez to tie the game. The JV golds record is now 3-2-1 on the season.

Psst, hey you got your pink out shirt? They are going fast, get one while we still have some. $20 for shirt sleeve, $25 for long sleeve. See your favorite student trainer or come by training room.

Thought for the day-October is Anti-Bullying Month-“Strong people stand up for themselves.  But the strongest people stand up for others.”-Unknown

Joke for the day-Why shouldn’t you play games with big cats?  Because sometimes thy are cheetahs.

Have a great day and remember to Be Kind! Be Smart! and Be Safe!
