Four Camdenton High School Students attended the Future Teachers of America (FTA) State convention in Columbia, MO, on November 16.
When the students arrived, CHS FTA student Isabella Hamner decided to run for a Student Ambassador position. Isabella ran against 16 candidates out of which only four will be selected as ambassadors. Ambassadors plan and run next year's State meeting. Isabella prepared a two-minute speech in about 45 minutes and was voted on by those present to serve as an FTA ambassador for next year! CHS FTA student Blair Butts volunteered to give Camdenton’s FTA chapter report.
The keynote speaker for the event was Darbie Valenti Huff, MO 2017 Teacher of the Year. Students listened intently as she bravely shared her childhood story and how a teacher helped her become who she is today.
Thanks to CHS Faculty Sponsor, Jennifer Gladbach, for giving these students and future teachers this opportunity.
