The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a national normed test administered by the Kansas City Military Entrance Processing Station. The ASVAB measures general science, mathematics, word knowledge, paragraph comprehension, electronics information, auto and shop information, and mechanical comprehension. The ASVAB test has traditionally been used as a military entrance exam, but the ASVAB test now provides interest inventory information and career exploration information as well. The purpose of Camdenton High School students taking this test is for the overall score and the career exploration information.
Camdenton High School has been coded as an “Option 8” school. This code indicates that recruiters or other military personnel cannot access the results of the ASVAB test without the tester’s permission; therefore the tester must provide the test results to recruiters.
Students may choose not to test if they have taken another nationally normed standardized test, such as ACT (score of 26 or higher), SAT, ASVAB, or complete COMPASS. We, as a district, are now required to submit at least one standardized test score for each student to the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
The test will be given at Camdenton High School on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 for with the last names beginning A-L during the first three (3) hours of the day. The test will be given at Camdenton High School on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 for with the last names beginning M-Z during the first three (3) hours of the day.
The ASVAB test is a free test.
