How did we put your student first?
When Ryan started kindergarten we didn’t know what was about to happen. During that year covid hit and all schools were closed. Not only were the teachers, staff, students and parents about to learn something that would substantially impact the way of teaching, learning and dealing with children with 504 plans. Mrs. Branscum made sure that all of her students in her class were right on top of where they needed to be on their grade level. The staff at West also went above & beyond to help in any way they could. At that time Sherry Ball was Ryan’s speech pathologist & she made sure he was receiving the services that he needed. The school's motto “students first” fits that era of learning to a T. 

What opportunities did we provide your student with that they couldn't have taken advantage of anywhere else?
I feel that each district holds their own opportunities for each child in any way that they can. Whether it’s through sports, clubs and events. Our son plays basketball and it has helped him open up to other kids instead of being shy to meet new people. 

Why should others consider BSD as their "Destination District"?
BSD offers a lot of options for each child in the district from preschool until sometimes even after graduation.
