Student involvement at the Area Education Center (AEC) requires a credit deficient status or other issues impacting credit attainment. Some students come to the AEC needing only one or two classes late afternoon classes, and continue to attend Brainerd High School. some choose to attend AEC full-time, and still others have a blended schedule that allows them to take some classes at AEC and some at BHS. We also have students that open-enroll from other neighboring districts. There is never just one "type" of students that attends AEC - a variety of students are here for a variety of reasons! AEC is so much more than just on-line learning and independent study. Our small class sizes allow you to get to know your teachers, learn at your own pace, and have one-on-one support and assistance. We offer hands-on electives and other opportunities that allow you to try something new, while still in the same supportive environment. These include:

- Teen Moms Class and Group
