In one of her last official events before retirement, Bethel Superintendent Chris Parra cut the ribbon at the grand opening of the Sarang affordable housing complex, provided by Homes For Good.
Bethel had been working with Homes For Good to assist families with children cut through red tape and find spots in the new complex, located on Taney Street directly behind the Willamette High School’s Wolverine Stadium.
Sarang is perfectly situated close to Willamette, Cascade and Malabon schools.
The new housing provides 49 units of 2, 3 and 4 bedrooms for families with little or no income. Oregon has one of the highest rates in the country of families with children experiencing homelessness.
