Teacher/Parent/Student Partnership Compact :
The purpose of a school / parent compact (section 1118 of Public Law 103-382) is to build and foster the development of a partnership to help all children achieve the State’s high standards. Responsibility for improved student achievement will be shared by parents, the child, and teachers.
The school’s responsibility is to provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective environment that enables students to meet the State’s student performance standards.
Each parent is responsible for supporting their child’s learning, by monitoring attendance and homework, encouraging positive use of extracurricular time and communicating and/or participating in decisions that relate to the child’s education.
The Student’s responsibilities are simple: try hard, respect teachers and materials and complete work in a timely fashion.

Title I Group Reading Intervention--Notice :
Benjamin Logan Elementary is very fortunate to have the Title I Group Reading Intervention program which offers various levels of intervention for students who require more reading skills in order to make progress and succeed in reading. Depending on the grade level, we will work on the five elements of the reading process: phonemic awareness, phonics/decoding, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension.

Title I Pouching Program :
Nightly practice will help your child gain the confidence needed to read appropriate grade level material easily. This program is targeted for students who need a boost but not the everyday routine of an intervention group. He/she will bring a book home every day to read to you or another responsible adult.
