Mission:
The mission of Amherst County Public Schools' Comprehensive School Counseling Program is to provide academic, career and personal/social support for ALL students. ACPS Professional School Counselors will implement a comprehensive program in every school and assume shared responsibility for providing a safe and nurturing environment for all students to grow and develop.
Vision:
A Comprehensive School Counseling Program exists in Amherst County Public Schools to ensure all students become successful, confident individuals. School Counselors are educational leaders; professional student advocates whose duties are focused on the overall delivery of the total program through school counseling core curriculum, individual student planning, responsive services, and advocacy.

Amherst County Public Schools employ fifteen school counselors to serve the needs of approximately 4,000 students in Kindergarten through Grade Twelve. School counselors address academic, career, social and emotional needs of all students in the school division.
