Hello, Norte Vista students and families!
I hope this message finds you in good health and spirits, and, of course, being Brave!
To start, remember, that our first grading period ended last Friday, and final progress report grades should be available for viewing next Monday. However, I would suggest using your AERIES portal to check your student's grades at least weekly. Setting this proactive routine will help address concerns, and increase communication about academic, graduation, and post-graduation goals.
Since we are talking about grades, please mark October 12, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on your calendar. This will be our first-semester Parent-Teacher Conferences. We will have more details and information to follow. Please be sure to read parent square messages.
Next, as always, I will continue to emphasize what I expect from every student attending Norte Vista High School. I need a commitment to our "10 Things That Require Zero Talent", as well as our Novi Values (Respect, Integrity, and Determination). Please see our schoolwide banners below, which are also posted in every classroom on campus, and in our hallways. These characteristics are actually industry "soft skills", as well as the foundation of the "Best High School in the World"!
Parents, we appreciate your continued support in emphasizing the importance of daily attendance with your students. Being present daily and on time is essential to finding success. In addition, being present and engaged will help students build routines that they will benefit from as adults, way after they graduate from Norte Vista.
Finally, thank you for your continued support of the Norte Vista High School cell phone policy, food delivery policy, dress code policy, and new tardy policy. These policies and other site or district policies help maintain high expectations and the safest learning environment possible, free of disruptions and distractions. We thank you for your cooperation and support in addressing these policies, and ensuring academic achievement remains a top priority not just on campus, but throughout our entire community!
